The latest addition to the Tameo ‘TMK’ range is kit number 444, depicting the 1998 F300 from the San Marino GP
The kit arrives in a sturdy box, with all components carefully bagged
After opening the bags, we are presented with the familiar mix of cast white metal, photo etch, rubber tyres, waterslide decals and a selection of smaller detail items
For the San Marino GP, the F300 featured a unique aerodynamic configuration with ‘pillar wings’ added in the middle of the car on either side pod. This feature alone will make this an appealing addition for collectors
Sharply printed decals provide all markings for this event
Full colour instructions are provided to step through the assembly sequence. Here the pillar wing assembly is highlighted
The F300 body is cast as a single piece, with accurate sharp and finely cast panel lines
From another angle, the distinctive features of the F300 are clearly visible
A perfectly formed photo etch sheet is included. More of the F300 lends itself to reproduction using this method, so the etched sheet is a little larger than some recent releases
Magnified, the sharply formed etched parts possess a beauty all their own
Cutting edge manufacturing process allow the wheel spokes to be cast. This approach provides a superior result to photoetch, with finer spoke detail and the recessed centre represented
The model at completion. Enjoy!
