Tameo Kits latest release in the Montegrosso line is the Tyrrell 009 as it contested the 1979 Brazilian GP.
Opening the box, we find all the kit components neatly bagged and carefully packed.
The kit includes full colour instructions that provide precise guidance on the location and colour of each part
The decal sheet is crisply printed and includes a decal to decorate the etched name plate for display. The 009 featured a simple but distinctive livery.
The full spread of kit parts highlights the mix of cast and etched parts. Photo etch is excellent for flat or thin parts, however the cast metal provides for a more three dimensional appearance with no loss of fidelity.
The main body casting is a wonderful item. Flowing curves, sharp details, fine recessed panel lines and thin edges.
Detail parts illustrate the quality of the casting – here the transmission and the roll hoop. The detail is remarkable.
To further illustrate the details of this kit, we have quickly assembled the components. Here the transmission and rear suspension has been fitted together.
The floor of the car, with the cockpit and transmission in place. Everything that is visible on the completed curbside model is highly detailed but easy to assemble.
The main body is detailed with parts to represent the wings, side pod vents, and front suspension.
When the two halves are brought together, the Tyrrell 009 takes shape.
To best highlight the details and form of the model, the assembled parts were lightly sprayed with primer.
MTG 009 includes perfectly molded rubber tyres. These were fitted to complete the demonstration build.
We are proud of this new kit of the Tyrrell 009 and hope that modelers enjoy the high levels of detail and relative simple assemble this project offers.
