Tameo Kits recently release a new model of the Alfa Romeo 183T Monaco GP 1983 as SilverLine SLK 121. This model is now available for sale, so let’s take a look!
The kit contents are packed inside a study cardboard box, with some foam packing to keep the parts from moving around.
The kit components are neatly bagged, with the body and floor keep separate from the smaller white metal parts. A small photo etch fret, rubber tyres and a decal sheet complete the kit. The instruction manual is included, and can also be downloaded from the product listing on this website.
Photo etch is used sparingly, for those sections where very thin metal is needed – vents, wing endplates, radiator faces, seat belts and a name plate.
The decals are beautifully printed with perfect register and bright colours.
The car body is beautifully cast with smooth surfaces and minimal casting marks. What a classic profile!
The body features very finely cast lines to assist with masking the red and white sections of the body. Openings for the vents are cleanly cast and well defined.
The model includes a cast section of transmission as this is visible through the rear of the car. The part clicks into place accurately for a test fit.
The lower section of the monocoque and cockpit will form a separate sub-assembly. Again, the parts fit together superbly.
The wheels are cast in single pieces, with sharp detail and the correct concave profile to the spokes.
The model also includes the section of turbo and exhausts that is visible through the top of the model. A neat touch that will add much visual interest to the finished model.
Another shot of the internals through the body vent.
The body is a perfect fit over the cockpit parts.
È ora di iniziare il montaggio!!
